Given:

  • Radius, = 42250 km

  • Time taken,t = 24 h

To be calculated:

Calculate its speed( v )?

Solution:

The speed of an body moving in circular path is given by formula;

Speed = 2πr/t

We know that ,

The value of π = 22/7

Now,

Putting the values in the above formula, we get

Speed = 2 × 22 × 42250/7 × 24

= 44 × 42250/168

= 1,859,000/168

= 11065.4 km/h

We can convert speed from kilometers per hour to kilometers per second:

Speed = 11065.4/60 × 60

= 11065.4/3600

= 3.07 km/s
