An artificial satellite is moving in a circular orbit of radius 36000 km. Calculate it's speed if it takes up to 24 hours to revolve around the Earth.​

Radius of orbit , r = 36,000 Km

Distance travelled by satellite to complete one orbit = circumference of the orbit = 2πr

= 2 × 22/7 × 36,000 = 226285.7 km

Time , t = 24 hr

therefore, Linear velocity of satellite = Distance / Time

= 226285.7 km/ 24h

= 9428.57 Km h ^ -1

= 9428.57 / 3600

= 2.62 km s ^ -1
