An artificial satellite is moving in a circular path of radius 42250 km. calculate its speed if it takes 24 hours to revolve around the earth.

The body travels in the circular path and it covers one circumference in 24 hrs.

So, the distance travelled = 2πr = 2π×42250
= 84500π km
speed = distance/time
= 84500π/24(84 500 * π) / 24
= 11 061.0241 km/hr
