It actually moves in straight line but due to gravity its path is curved and it appears to be moving around the earth. ... So, because the satellite is falling freely under the influence of gravity, hence themotion is accelerated

As we know ,satelite keeps changing its direction in a circular orbit at its every point, and if u recall the concept of acceleration it is associated with direction also .Thus if direction changes ,acceleration also changes inspite of constant velocity.
