An artificial satellite orbiting the earth in very thin atmosphere loses its energy gradually due to
dissipation against atmospheric resistance, however small. So, its speed should be decreased, but actually
its speed increases progressively as it comes closer and closer to the earth. Why?

As the satellite comes closer and closer to the earth its speed increases not decreases.
It is because,earth is strong gravitational force which attracts the satellite as it comes closer and closer the force of attraction also increases that makes the high speed of satellite.
