An astronaut is said to be weightless when he/she travels in a satellite.does it mean that the earth does not attract him/her?

No, gravitational force is a force having infinite range. It only reduces to an extent that astronauts cannot feel it.

In space astronaut feel weightless because earth's gravity has less effort on us .
#Space is a vacuums so, there is no gravity to attract any thing .

Although , due to less effort of earth and due to negligible gravity in space astronaut feel weigh less .
