An athelete made a history in long jump jumping 8.90m.Supppose that his initial velocity is 9.5m/s.If we don't take the wind resistance in calculation then how much near did he jump from the max. range?(g=9.78m/s square)

apply the formula for maximum range

s = ((v sq.)sin2ø)/g
let ø = 45
s = (v sq.) /g
= 90.25/9.8
= 9.209183673
