Answer:

219.8 metres

Explanation:

Given :

  • Diameter of the circular track in which athlete runs = 70 metres

  • Time the athlete ran for = 20 seconds

To find :

  • Find out the total distance covered

Radius of the circular track = 70/2 = 35 metres

Circumference of the circular track = 2×3.14×35

Circumference of the circular track = 6.28×35

Circumference of the circular track = 219. 8 metres

The athlete covers a distance of 219.8 metres

Additional calculations (extra dose) :

Speed = distance / time

Speed = 219.8/20

Speed = 10.99 m/s

Given:-

  • Diameter of circle =70m

  • Time taken (t) =20s

To Find:-

  • Distance covered by athlete.

Solution :-

We know that Diameter =2× Radius

∴ Radius =70/2=35 m

Distance covered =2πr

➦ Distance = 2× 22/7 × 35

➦ Distance = 44× 5

➦ Distance = 220

∴The distance covered by athlete is 220m.
