Speed is equal to 2) 10 metres per second.

Given:

Maximum speed attained by the athelete = 36 km/hr

To Find:

The equivalent of the speed 36km/hr in m/s.

Solution:

WKT;

1 kilometre = 1000 metres

1 hour = 3600 seconds

Therefore,

1km/hr = (1000/3600)m/s

= 5/18 m/s

So,

36 km/hr = (5/18) x 36 m/s

= 10m/s

Hence, the equivalent speed of 36km/hr is 10m/s.
