Answer:

distance = 4085.7 m ; displacement = 200m

Explanation:

diameter of circular track = 200m

radius of circular track, r = 100 m

circumference of circular track = 2

pie *r

= 2 * 22/7 * 100 = 4400/7 m

athlete cover 4400/7 m in 40 second

speed of athletic =(4400/7)/40 = 110/7 m/s

according to the question

distance :

4 min 20 second = 4 *60 +20 = 240 +20 = 260 second

distance covered = speed * time

= 110/7 * 260 = 4085.7 m

displacement :

260/40 = 6.5

its means that athletic cover 6 and half round of circular track

so, the displacement is equal to the diameter of the circular track = 200 m
