An athlete completes one round of a circular track of diameter 200 m in 40 s. What will be the distance covered and the displacement at the end of 2 minutes 20 s?

After 2 minutes 20 sec (=140 seconds), the athlete would have finished 3 rounds and be 20 seconds (140–40x3) into his fourth round.

There is no need to calculate the speed. Since the athlete covers the full track in 40s, he/she would have been midway around the track in 20s. Therefore, after 2 minutes 20 sec. , the athlete has reached a point diametrically opposite where they started from, making the displacement 200m.
