Athlete completes one round in 40 seconds,
total time = 2 minute 20 second = 140 s
number of rounds = 140/40 = 3.5
So he would have covered 3 complete rounds and half round. So he would exactly at the diametrically opposite point of the starting point in the circular track.
Thus displacement = length of diameter = 200m
Distance covered = 3.5 times the circumference of circular track = 3.5×π×d =3.5×π×200= 2200m
total time = 2 minute 20 second = 140 s
number of rounds = 140/40 = 3.5
So he would have covered 3 complete rounds and half round. So he would exactly at the diametrically opposite point of the starting point in the circular track.
Thus displacement = length of diameter = 200m
Distance covered = 3.5 times the circumference of circular track = 3.5×π×d =3.5×π×200= 2200m
