Answer:

At the end of his motion, the athlete will be in the diametrically opposite position. That is, displacement = diameter = 200 m. Hence, the distance covered is 2200 m and the displacement is 200 m.

Diameter of track = 200m

Radius of track = d/2 = 200/2 = 100 m

Time taken by an athlete to cover 1 round = 40 sec.

☛Distance and displacement at the end of 2min 20 sec

{\bold{\pink{\underline{\red{So}\purple{lut}\green{ion}\orange{:-}}}}}

Distance covered in 1 round = 2πr

\bf\:=2\times\:\dfrac{22}{7}\times\:100

Distance covered in 140 sec

\bf\:=\dfrac{200\times\:22}{40\times\:7}\times\:140

\bf\:=5\times\:22\times\:20

\bf\:=2200\:m

No of round in 140 sec\bf\:=\dfrac{140}{40}

\bf\:=3.5\:rounds

When he started from A then after 140 sec,he will be at B

Displacement = Straight line from A to B

Displacement = 200 m
