An athlete feels breathless after running in a long race. Why? Pls explain.....

The oxygen transfer from your lungs to your blood can't always keep up with the amount you are burning so the heart demands more and begins to beat faster and your lungs try to work faster to keep up with your heart transferring the oxygen to your blood. As you get in better shape the heart and lungs work more efficiently and you don't feel so out of breath.

Aerobic respiration is a type of respiration in which energy is released in presence of oxygen . While running the athlete needs a lot of energy, to supply oxygen so that the energy is produced , they breathe more faster than usual.Thus an athlete feels breathless after running.Hope so that it helped you...
