Answer:

Displacement=0

speed=0.35 m/s

Explanation:

the displacement is 0 as the starting and ending point are the same it is 0

Sped formula is distance divided by time

as it takes 160 to do 4 laps it takes 40 seconds to do 1 lap

so 14 divided by 40=0.35 so 0.35 m/s

Answer:

Given:-

diameter=14m

therefore radius=14/2=7m

also given 4 laps

time=160 s

Solution:-

We know

distance= total path/length covered by an object in any direction, whether backward or not

displacement=the shortest distance between the initial and final point in a specified direction.

We know

distance=total length

here it's circular path, therefore distance=circumference of the circle

we know Circumference=2πr

therefore

Circumference=2×22/7×7

that is 44 m

In round he completed 44m

Given he completed 4 laps in 160 second

that is

circumference×4

44×4=176

therefore he travelled a total distance of 176m

and now we've to find displacement

we know

displacement=shortest distance between the initial and final point, here two such points are the diameter,

that is displacement of a circular path=it's diameter

displacement=14 m

Now we've to find the speed

speed=distance/time

speed=176/160

that is he travelled 1.1 m per second

therefore his speed is 1.1m/s

hope it helps
