Look,
The perimeter of a circle is 2πr,
But the athlete has covered only half. So, the distance covered by the athlete will be,
Distance = 2×π×r/2 = π×r = 7×π = 21.9911485751285 m
But, the displacement is the shortest distance b/w the initial and the final position. If you draw a straight line b/w initial position and the final position since, the athlete has covered only half of the circles circumference, the displacement will be the diameter of the circle.
Hence,
Displacement = 2×r = 2 × 7 = 14 m
