The displacement us the shortest distance between initial and final position so after covering the half distance of circular track he will cover a semi circle thus the displacement will be the diameter of the circular track.i.e 40m.

The displacement is shortest route between any two points ..so if the body covers half the circle then the displacement would be the diameter so to get as much quick you can with the same speed ..then it would be 40m
