An athlete runs the first 0.5 km of the track in 125 s, the next 60 m in another 50 s and last 40 m in 25 s. Calculate the average speed of the athlete.​

Average speed = Total Distance/Total Time taken

= 560/175

=3.2m/s

average \: speed =  \frac{toal \: distace}{total \: time}

 =  \frac{500 + 60 + 40}{125 + 50 + 25}  =  \frac{600}{200}  = 3
