An athlete starts from rest.he accelerates uniformly and completes 100m race in 10sec.find his acceleration.

As athlete is at rest,. (u)=0m/s
Given displacement (S)=100 m Time taken to cover 100m=10sec
We know,
s = u \times t +  \frac{1}{2} \times a \times  {t}^{2} \\ 100 = 0 \times 10 +  \frac{1}{2}   \times a \times  {10}^{2}   \\ 100 = 0 +  \frac{a}{2} \times 100 \\  \\
100 = 50 \times a \\ a =  \frac{100}{50}  \\ a = 2 m \: per \:  {sec}^{2}
therefore , acceleration of the athlete=2m/sec square
