An athlete suffer from muscle cramps after running for a longer distance. What will be the reason for it? Suggest two solution to recover from the pain

our muscles cells are aerobic which means it needs oxygen to to convert glucose to pyruvate. during excess workout, we are not able to supply enough oxygen to our muscle cells and as a result they cannot create energy. so they start using lactic acid as energy. this lasts only a little while as muscles start cramping.

solutions to recover the pain:

1) Stretch and massage. Stretch the cramped muscle and gently rub it to help it relax. For a calf cramp, put your weight on your cramped leg and bend your knee slightly. Avoid movements.

2)Apply heat or cold. Use a warm towel or heating pad on tense or tight muscles
