An athlete took 1 and a half round of a circular track of diameter 2r. Using 2 different threads, show diagrammatically distance and displacement covered by the athlete.(radius=7cm)

U need to draw a circle of the radius that fits in the place, n state that which thread is for distance and which thread is for displacement. For eg:
Blue thread:displacement
Pink thread: distance

Paste these threads colorwise on the circle,

Also, write
Distance=circumference=2πr+πr=3πr
Displacement =diameter=2r=14 cm

Answer:

Correct option is

A

2RandπR

For completing the half round of circle, the distance covered will be half of circumference of the circle i.e., d=πR.

Displacement is the shortest distance between initial and final position, so the displacement will be just the diameter of circle. S=2R
