Maximum no. of Electrons in the first shell = 2

Maximum no. of Electrons in the second shell = 8

given: No. of Electrons left in the outermost shell is 4

we know atomic number = No. of Electrons....

Which is 2 + 8 + 4

therefore, Atomic number= 14

Valency = 4 (Electrons Left in the outermost shell)
