Hi friend,

When an atom loses its electron it becomes ion(cation) and it becomes positive charge.

Hope this helped you a little!!!

An atom that looses an electron in general is Metal,

Because Metal have some extra electrons , Which they want to loose to get Noble Gas Configuration,

Metal by loosing electrons Get a Positive charge and combine with non - metals, Which have negative charge,

To be in more clarity, Metals give electrons to Non metals by loosing them not by sharing, And Ionic bond is formed,

So the answer to your question is Metals,

Hope you had, Have a great day !!
