An atom with atomic number 12 has number of neutrons 12 in it. Calculate the mass number and number of protons.

\Huge{\underline{\underline{\blue{\mathfrak{Answer :}}}}}

  • Atomic Number of element = 12
  • Number of neutrons = 12

We have to Find Mass and Number of protons

Remember :-

{\boxed{\red{\sf{Mass \: = \: Number \:  of \:  Electrons \: + \: Number \: of \: Neutrons}}}}

And also,

{\boxed{\red{\sf{Atomic \: No.  \: = \: No. \: of \: electrons \: = \: No. \: of \: Protons }}}}

From above we know,

Atomic Number = No. of electrons = No. of Protons

Atomic Number = 12

No. of elections = 12

No. of Protons = 12

And Mass = No. of electrons + No. of Neutrons

→ Mass = 12 + 12

→ Mass = 24

The Atoms is Magnesium
