Autotrophic organisms synthesise their own food. Photoautotrophs are green plants which synthesise their own food using the energy of sunlight. Plant fix atmospheric carbon in presence of sunlight and convert them into glucose and energy in the form of ATP. While animals can not synthesise their food and depend on plants and other animals for their food i.e heterotrophs.
