An auditorium has 600 seats out of that 2/3 of the seats are empty. how many seats are empty? Please show the process.

total seats =600
ratio of seats empty=2/3
no. of seats =600×2/3= 400

GIVEN:-There are 600 seats
2/3 are empty
SOLUTION:- so making 3 parts of 600 seats
600÷3
=200
therefore 200 seats=1/3of 600.....(1) seats.
therefore 2/3 seats =1/3×2
=200×2
=400 seats

Now 2/3=400/600
therefore occupied seats=1/2of 600
therefore 1/2of 600=200seats..... from (1)


ANSWER:- 200 seats are occupied
& 400 seats are empty
