number of seats empty =

900 * 1/3 = 300

therefore 300 seats are empty.

number of occupied seats = number of total seats - number of empty seats

therefore ,

number of occupied seats = 900 - 300 = 600

number of seats occupied are 600

Auditorium has 900 total seats.

Empty seats = 1/3

Divide 900 into 3 parts we get

900/3

300.

Therefore 300 seats are empty

So, occupied seats will be

900-300

=>600.

Hence 600 seats are occupied.
