Answer:

Total distance travelled = x kms

Total fare = y rs

According to question,

fare for first km = rs 15

fare for remaining (x−1)kms=rs8

Therefore required linear equation:

y=15+8(x−1)

y=15+8x−8

y=8x+7

x= 0,1,2,3

y=7,5,23,31

Now,

if auto travel 1km , then x=1

Thus , y=8(1)+7

=8+7=₹15

If auto travel 7km , then x=7

Thus , y=8(7)+7

=56+7

=₹63
