If the total amount paid is y , then the equation will be.....

y= 15+8(x-1)\\ \\ y= 15+8x-8\\ \\ y= 8x+7

For graphing the equation, we will make a table for getting some points and then plot them on the graph paper. Here the value of x can't be negative, as x is the distance. (Please look at the below image for table and graph)

We can see in the graph that y=55 line in intersecting the graph at (6, 55) point , that means the distance traveled for the fare of Rs. 55 will be 6 km.

Now, for distance of 7 km, we will plug x=7 into the above equation....
