Total Number of Shifts = 13.

Given in the question, an automobile assembly line runs for 9 and 3/4 hours each day and the Employees work 3/4 hour shifts.

We have to find how many shifts are there in each day.

As given in the question, each shift is for 3/4 hrs.

In 3 hrs, the number of shifts employees are able to cover:-

= 3/(3/4)= 4 shifts.

Hence in 9 hrs, the number of shifts which all the employees will be able to cover = 4 x 3 = 12 shifts.

After that we have 3/4 of an hour left.

And as it is given in the question that each shift is 3/4 of an hour we can do 1 more shift in that remaining time.

Hence total number of shifts = 12 + 1 =13.
