An automobile travelling along a straight road increases its speed from 30.0 m/s to 50.0 m/s in a distance of 0.16 km. If the acceleration is constant, how much time elapses while the automobile move this distance?

Answer:

Acceleration : 125 m/s^2

Time : 0.16 s

Explanation:

First we’ll find ‘a’ by using

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

(50)^2 = (30)^2 +2*0.16*a

2500=900+3.2(a)

400 =3.2(a)

125=a

a = 125 m/s^2

Now for finding time we’ll use :

v=u+at

50=30+125(t)

20=125(t)

0.16=t

t = 0.16s

Hope it was helpful:)
