Let CP be x

So now,

\sf\leadsto S.P_1 = \frac{115}{100}x \\

\sf\leadsto S.P_2 = \frac{108}{100}x \\

\underline{\sf As \ per \ the \ Question}

\sf S.P_1 - S.P_2 = 56 \\

\sf \frac{115}{100}x - \frac{108}{100}x = 56 \\

\sf  \frac{7}{100}x = 56 \\

\sf x = 56× \frac{100}{ 7} \\

The above Question , the following information is given -

A dealer gets rupees 56 less if instead of selling a chair at a gain of 15% , it us sold at a gain if 8%

To find -

In the above Question. we have to find the required cost price of the chair .

Solution -

Since, we have to find the required cost price of the chair , let us assume this unknown quantity to be Rs. X

Now , we have the following condition given -

A dealer gets rupees 56 less if instead of selling a chair at a gain of 15% , it us sold at a gain if 8%

Case 1 -

The chair is sold at a gain of 15%

=> Selling Price Of Chair -

=> 115% of X

=> [ 115 / 100 ] x

=> 1.15 x

Case 1 -

The chair is sold at a gain of 15%

=> Selling Price Of Chair -

=> 115% of X

=> [ 115 / 100 ] x

=> 1.15 x

Case 2 -

The chair is sold at a gain of 8%

=> Selling Price Of Chair -

=> 108% of X

=> [ 108 / 100 ] x

=> 1.08 x

Now ,

Case 1 - Case 1 = 56

=> 1.15x - 1.08x = 56

=> 0.07 x = 56

=> x = Rs. 800

Hence , the required cost price of the chair is Rs. 800.

This is the final answer ...
