an earthen pot is made of mud and has numerous pores in it. If water is filled in the pot, tiny amounts of water come out from these pores, keeping the outer surface slightly moist. After a few hours, the water in the pot becomes refreshingly cold. This happens due to certain phenomenon. In which of these is the same phenomenon responsible for the effect seen?

Answer:

Evaporation.

Explanation:

Evaporation is the escape of high kinetic energy molecules from.the surface of liquid (or pores of earthenware pot in this case), leaving behind molecules with low kinetic energy. Temperature is directly proportional to kinetic energy. So, the drop in kinetic energy results on the drop of temperature causing a significant decrease in temperature.
