Answer:

Original Volume = 1000 mm³

New Volume = 125 mm³

Ratio of original : New :: 8:1

Step-by-step explanation:

volume of cube = (edge)³

= 10³ = 1000 mm³

edge is halved = 10/2 = 5 mm

New Volume = 5³ = 125

Relation between volumes

1000:125

8:1

volume of cube:a^3
10^3
1000mm^3
1000^3 mm^3=1cm^3
edge when halved =10/2mm
=5mm
volume of new cube=a^3
5^3
125mm^3=0.125cm^3
now the relationship between both cubes is that the new cube is obtained from old cube and is 1/8 of old cube.

amitnrw: 1000 mmcube = 1cm cube not 10cm cube , please correct , Similarly for 125mm cube = 0.125 cm cube
amitnrw: u r welcome
