The actual DNA and cell organelles are all confined to small spots which is attached to the yolk of an egg. Yolk is the place where fertilisation occurs. And what eventually turns or develops into embryo, so we might call it as a egg. And the rest of the egg only serves to feed or protect the embryo after fertilisation. Though, it is also called as a cell.
