Given current drawn(I) = 0.5 A
           Time taken(t) = 40 min = 40*60 = 2400 s
           charge(Q) = ?
I = Q/t
0.5 = Q/2400
Q = 0.5*2400 = 1200 C

Answer:

An electric bulb draws a current of 0.5 A 40 minutes then the amount of charge that flows through the circuit is 1200C

Explanation:

  • Consider an electrical circuit flowing current I through it. t be the time of flow and Q be the total charge. We have the expression for the total charge as,

        Q = It     ...(1)

  • In the question, it is given that,

       I =0.5A

       t = 40min = 40\times 60 = 2400s

       we know, the charge of one electron (e) is given by,

       e = 1.6\times 10^{-19} C

       Substituting these values into equation (1)

       Q = 0.5\times 2400 = 1200C
