 \huge \fcolorbox{red}{pink}{Solution :)}

Given ,

Potential difference = 220 Volt

Current = 0.5 Amp

We know that , the ohm's law is given by

 \large \sf  \fbox{Potential \:  difference = IR}

Where ,

I = current

R = resistance

Substitute the known values , we get

Resistance = 220/0.5

Resistance = 2200/5

Resistance = 440 Ohm

Hence , the resistance of the bulb is 440 ohm

Now , the electric power is given by

 \sf \large  \fbox{Electric \:  power = VI}

Substitute the known values , we get

Electric power = 220 × 0.5

Electric power = 110 watt

Hence , the electric power of the bulb is 110 watt

Question: An electric bulb is connected to a source of 220 volt and the current flowing  through the circuit is 0.5 ampere.

i) What will be the resistance?

ii) Find the power of the  bulb?

Answer:

i) The power of the bulb is 110 watts.

ii) The resistance of the bulb is 1 ohm.

Given data:

An electric bulb is connected to source of current = I = 220 volts.

Current flowing through it = A = 0.5 ampere

To find: We have to find the resistance and power of the bulb.

Solution:

According to formula of power,

Power = Voltage × Current

           = 220 × 0.5

           = 110

Therefore, Power of the bulb is 110 watts.

Resistance = Volt / Ampere (V/I)

                   = 220/110

                   = 1 Ohm

Therefore, The resistance of the bulb is 1 Ohm.
