An electric bulb is rate 220v-100w.Find the resistance of the filament​

Explanation:

When the filament is at normal operating temperature, the resistance would be:

R = V^2 / P

Or 484 Ohms. The resistance of metals increase with temperature, so at room temperature the resistance would be lower. If we assume that the filament is Tungsten and the normal operating temperature is 3000K, then the room temperature resistance would be about 30 Ohms.

To Find :-

➡R = ?

Solution :-

➡P = V × I

➡I = 100 / 220 = 0.45 Amp

➡R = V / I

➡R = 220 / 0.45 = 488.8888889 Ohm

Hence , 488.8888889 Ohm Is resistance of the filament
