An electric bulb is rated at 60W, 240V. Calculate its resistance. If the voltage drops to 192V, calculate the power consumed and the current drawn by the bulb.(Assume that the resistance of the bulb remain unchanged)

Given ;
Power = 60 W
V = 240 V

P = V×I
P = V×(V/R)
P = V^2/R

60 = (240×240)/R
R = 4×24
R = 96 ohm

Now,
V = 192 V
R = 96 ohm ----(as it remain unchanged)
P = ?

P = V^2/R
= (192×192)/96
= 384 W
______________________
Hence the power consumed by the electric bulb is 384 Watt.
