An electric bulb is rated at 60w 240v calculate the resistance.If the voltage drops to 192v calculate the power consume and the current drawn by the bulb (assume that the resistance of the bulb remains unchanged)

we know that

current = power/ volt

current = 60/240 = 1/4 = .25 A


now the resistance = v/i

that is : 240/.25 A = 960 ohm

now it is given that the voltage drops to 192 and it is given that the resistance is not changed.

so the current drawn is i = v/r

i = 192/960 = .2 A


we know that power = current * volt

that is = .2 * 192 = 38.4 watt


therefore the power consumed is 38.4 watt and .2 A
