Given:-

  • Power of bulb (p) = 100W.

  • Time of bulb used in one day = 6 hours

To Find:-

  • Amount of electric energy used in month of June.

  • Cost of electricity consumed each unit is 50 paise.

Solution :-

Firstly we have find the energy consumed by bulb in one day

By using this formula

For One Day

⟹ Energy Consumed = Power of bulb × time .

putting all the values which is given above

⟹ Energy Consumed = 100×6

⟹ Energy Consumed = 600 watt

Energy consumed by bulb in month of June

We know that in June there are 30days.

therefore

⟹Energy consumed by bulb in June = 600×30

⟹Energy consumed by bulb in June = 18000 watt

1 unit = 1000 watt

∴ 18000watt = 18000/1000 = 18Kwh.

Cost of electricity at per unit = 50 paise

∴ cost for 18 unit = 50 ×18 = 900 Paise

100 Paise = Rs 1.

∴ 900 Paise = 900/100 = Rs 9

The cost of electricity consumed is Rs 9.

Answer:

Energy is 18 kWh and total cost is Rs.9

Explanation

Given : P =100 watt = 0.1 kilo watt

Cost per unit= 50 paise = 0.5 Rs.

t = 6x30 = 180 hrs

To find:

Energy =E =?

Total cost = ?

we have,

E = Pxt

E = 0.1x180

E=18 kWh

and Total cost is 18x0.5 = Rs.9
