An electric current is passed between platinum
electrodes through solution of silver nitrate, copper
sulphate and dilute sulphuric acid, the solutions being
placed in series. If 1 gm of hydrogen is evolved by this
current in the third cell, calculate : (i) the mass of silver
and copper deposited in the first and the second cells,
and (ii) the volume of hydrogen measured at S.T.P. which
is liberated from the third cell.

Resistance is a measure of the opposition to current flow in an electrical circuit. Resistance is measured in ohms, symbolized by the Greek letter omega (Ω). Ohms are named after Georg Simon Ohm (1784-1854), a German physicist who studied the relationship between voltage, current and resistance.
