An electric current passes through a straight wire in the direction west to east. Two magnetic compasses are placed at points A directly above the wire and B directly below the wire as shown in the figure. what will happen​

Explanation:

This is found by right hand thumb rule. So magnetic compasses on X and Yexperience magnetic force of same magnitude but in opposite directions. Hence, the needles will deflect in opposite directions.
