Dipole moment is 8 × 10^(-3) Cm.

Given:

  • Electric dipole consists of positive & negative charge of 4 uC.
  • Separation is 2 mm

To find:

Dipole moment ?

Calculation:

Dipole moment is a vector quantity representing the product of the charge and the separation between the charges.

Let dipole moment be M :

M = q \times d

  • q is charge and d is separation.

 \implies \: M = (4 \times  {10}^{ - 6} ) \times (2 \times  {10}^{ - 3} )

 \implies \: M =8 \times  {10}^{ - 9} \: Cm

So, the dipole moment is 8 × 10^(-3) Cm.
