Power = 1500W , Voltage (V) = 250V

(i) Current drawn = P/V

=> 1500/250 = 6A

(ii) Energy consumed = power × time = 1500 × 50 = 75000Wh [ 1 kW = 1000W]

=> 75unit [ 1 unit = 1kWh]

(iii) cost of energy consumed = 75 × 6 = Rs 450

Given:

  • Power rating : 1500 W/250 V
  • It is connected to 250 V line
  • Time for which operated = 50 hr
  • Cost @ ₹ 6 per unit

To find:

  • Current
  • Total energy consumed
  • Total cost

Calculation:

Current will be :

P = V \times i

 \implies i =  \dfrac{P}{V}

 \implies i =  \dfrac{1500}{250}

 \implies i =  6 \: ampere

Now, the net energy consumed is :

E  = P \times t

  • Putting P value in kW hr (i.e 1.5 kW hr) unit :

 \implies E  = 1.5 \times 50

 \implies E  = 75 \: kW \: hr

Now , net cost will be :

net \: cost = 75 \times 6

 \implies net \: cost = Rs \: 450

So, net cost is 450/-
