power = 1kw = 1000w

power = v²/R

1000= 220² /R

48.4 ohm = R

Answer:

Resistance = 48.4 ohms

Explanation:

Power = 1000 watt

Voltage = 220 volts

We know that,

Votage = Work done/ Charge

Work = Voltage×Charge

If we divide both side by time we get,

Work/Time = Voltage×Charge/Time

Power = Votage×Current

P = IV ------(1)

(because work/time = power and charge/time = current)

From Ohm's Law, V=IR

I = V/R

Putting this in (1),

P = V²/R

1000 = 220²/R

R = 48400/1000

R = 48.4 Ohm's

Hence the resistance of the filament is 48.4 ohms.
