Heat energy produced in 5 minutes = 54,000 joules

Given:

Resistance (R) = 5 ohms

Current (I) = 6A

Time(t) = 5 minutes = 300 seconds

Potential difference (V) = IR ( ohm's law)

=> V = 6 x 5

= 30V

Power of the electric heater = VI

= 30 x 6

= 180W

Heat energy = Power x time

= 180 x 300

= 54000J
