Given
V=230v
I=5A
t=3min=180s
H=?
R=?

V=IR
R=V/I
R=230/5
R=46ohms
H=I^2Rt
H=(5)^2*46*180
H=207000J
H=207KJ

GIVEN :-

  • Voltage of the electric heater , V = 230V
  • Current of the electric heater , I = 5A
  • Time , t = 3 × 60 seconds

TO FIND :-

  • Heat produced in the heater .
  • Resistance of the coil in the heater .

SOLUTION :-

  • Formula to find heat , H = VIT

              Heat = 230 × 5  × 3  × 60

                       = 207000 J

  • We know that , V = IR

              Resistance , \sf R=\dfrac{V}{I}

                                      \sf = \dfrac{230}{5}

                                      \bf = 46 \ \Omega

  • Heat produced in the heater = 20700 J

  • Resistance of the coil in the heater = 46 Ω
