Answer:

1.1 is the required Current.

Explanation:

Given:-

Current ,I = 2.2 A

Potential Difference ,V = 220 v

Potential Difference ,V' = 110 v

To Find:-

Current when connected to 110v ,I'

Solution:-

Firstly we calculate the Resistance of electric iron . Using Ohm's Law

• V = IR

where,

V denotes Potential Difference

I denote Current

R denote Resistance

Substitute the value we get

→ 220 = 2.2 × R

→ R = 220/2.2

→ R = 2200/22

→ R = 100 Ω

Resistance of electric iron is 100 ohms.

Now, Calculating the New Current when electric iron is connected in 110v . Using Ohm's Law

• V' = I' R

substitute the value we get

→ 110 = I' × 100

→ I' = 110/100

→ I'= 1.1 A

Hence, the new current of the electric iron is 1.1 Ampere .
