(i) Current required to operate the iron,
(ii) Heat generated in 30 minutes.

Power = 500W

Voltage = 200V

We know that,

Power = Voltage × Current

P = VI

500 = 200×I

I = 500/200 = 5/2 = 2.5A

Hence the current required to operate the iron is 2.5A

We know that,

H = VIt

H = 200 × 5/2 × 30*60    (30 min = 30*60 sec= 1800 sec)

H = 500 × 1800

H = 9,00,000 J

H = 900 kJ
